Residents in Preston will see the return of the food waste bin.
Recent government plans outlined in the Environmental bill plans for all food waste to be collected separately from houses by 2023.
It was estimated that nearly 58,000 households don’t have their waste food collected in Preston meaning that Preston City Council along with around 50% of other nationwide councils will have to introduce new food waste collection plans before 2023.
This new proposal comes only 5 years after many councils decided to stop waste food collections to help reduce budget spending.
